Our Boot Fit Guarantee begins with a full evaluation of your foot and
a comprehensive interview with you. This process will include:

- Measurement of foot length
- Measurement of foot width
- Assessment of ankle volume
- Assessment of dorsiflexion
- Measurement of instep height
- Measurement of arch length
- Measurement of leg length
- How often you ski
- What type of terrain you ski
- Overall level of fitness
- What type of skis do you enjoy
- Our assessment of your feet and any unique fitting
issues you are not aware of
- What other sports you participate in regularly
- Any past injuries or special conditions
- What are your hopes and expectations for your skiing future
At this point, we will then choose boots which are best suited to satisfy all the needs discovered during your evaluation. After we select the best brand, model and size, we begin the process of customizing them from the inside out. This process may include heat molding the liners and grinding or stretching the shells. Then we will discuss the special benefits you can expect from the addition of a heat-molded custom foot beds and boot balancing. Adjustments made to the ramp angle, cant angles and cuff angles can have a significant effect on your skiing. Any major modifications to the boot shells, liners, insoles, stance alignment and boot balancing are provided at additional fees based on the services performed but we will let you know any additional fees as we go along.
Our Boot Fit Guarantee provides the highest standard of custom ski boot fitting in the industry. We are dedicated to providing our customers with the best model selection, correct sizing, overall fitting and customization available. Naturally, our guarantee only applies to new boots purchased from Ski Frisco Sports. We welcome the opportunity to assist you in obtaining a comfortable fit with boots purchased through another retailer at a rate of $60.00 per hour labor charge plus the cost of any fitting aids and other services provided.
If you are not satisfied with your Ski Frisco Sports boots after skiing on them for five days, please bring them back in so that we have the opportunity to refit them to your satisfaction. In the unlikely event that you are still not satisfied, we will gladly trade your boots for another pair or issue you a store credit to be used at your discretion.
We look forward to working with you!

Wax: Base cleaner is applied to remove old wax and grit. An iron-on wax is applied to the base and excess is scraped off. It is then buffed with ScotchBrite and hand-finished with cork for a faster, smoother ride. $15
Edge & Wax: Edges are filled using the WinterSteiger Micro SB2 machine edger (or in some cases, by hand). Both side and base bevels are honed to 1 degree of angle, which works well on both ski and snowboard edges and in all snow conditions. Edges are then de-burred and hand polished. Tips and tails are de-tuned for any easy edge transition. Base cleaner and wax are applied same as above. $25
Full Tune: Deep scratches are filled in using P-Tex or a base extruder. Excess P-Tex is scraped off, and the ski or snowboard is run over a stone grinder to flatten the base and create a linear or crosshatch structure in the base of the ski. Linear patterns are used for colder, newer snow conditions and crosshatches are used for older, wetter snow. Waxing and edging then finish the tune, same as above. For race tunes, call the shop. $40
Release Test: Boots and bindings are inspected for excessive wear and damage. Boots are placed in the binding and release settings are calculated using skier weight, height, boot sole length and skier type. Bindings are adjusted to the proper release settings and the Vermont Ski Safety torque testing device is used to confirm that the binding is working properly. $25
Mounting Bindings: Base is prepped with wax. Ski/Binding systems are mounted on the skis according to boot sole length then adjusted for release settings, or boots are set in a mounting template and locked into place. Template is placed on the ski and holes are drilled, tapped and glued (for lubrication and water seal). Bindings are mounted to the ski and then adjusted for release settings. Bindings are then tested for accuracy of release settings. $35
Re-Mounting: Re-mounting of bindings may need to be done if the user of the ski has changed boots, or old bindings are being mounted on new skis. A release test is done before transferring bindings to another ski to ensure that the binding is working properly. $45
Core Penetrations: Core penetrations/shots are damaged areas of the base that penetrate all the way to the core of the ski. If unattended, damage of this type can cause delamination of the base and/or the edge. Shots are usually filled in with P-Tex, but occasionally the base around the shot will need to be removed and a new piece placed in the spot. A full tune follows to flatten and smooth out the base. Price will vary depending on amount of damage, materials needed and labor. Price Varies
Edge Replacement: Edges may need to be replaced if a core shot has extended to the edge and bent or ripped the edge from the ski or board. The base around the edge is taken out, and the damaged edge section is cut out. A new section of edge is then cut to fit and attached by screws and epoxy. The base is then added and a full tune follows to flatten and smooth out the base. Price will vary depending on amount of damage, materials needed and labor. Price Varies
Delamination: Delamination occurs when damaged areas allow water to seep in, separating the base from the core, or the core from the top sheet. Epoxy or urethane is applied to the separated areas then clamped to hold the materials together for adhesion. Price will vary depending on amount of damage and labor. Price Varies
Storage Wax: In order to prolong the life of your skis we offer complimentary storage wax at the end of YOUR season. We apply a heavy coat of wax to the ski base. They will need to be scraped and buffed before the next season. $5
